Understanding the changing landscape of HRDD and its impact on various supply chains in Asia
Organized by:

Change Alliance
Background
As momentum builds around mandatory Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (mHRDD) legislation globally, Asia stands at a pivotal moment both as a production hub and as a region highly vulnerable to systemic shocks such as climate change, labour informality, and inequality. Recent interventions by Change Alliance highlight that, with growing regulatory expectations from the EU and other jurisdictions, Asian countries must urgently strengthen domestic policy coherence, improve integration across supply chain actors, and enhance protection for rights-holders.
To address these challenges, Change Alliance is convening a spotlight session at the UNRBHR Forum 2025 to emphasize the importance of meaningful multi-stakeholder engagement, responsible purchasing and disengagement practices, enforcement of living wages and incomes, effective mandatory HRDD, and robust grievance processes that can advance the decent work agenda across supply chains. The session will showcase practical tools and proven methodologies for strengthening decent work practices and grievance mechanisms, while underscoring the need for sustained investment and scaling to protect more workers from violations. Drawing on recent evidence and experiences, the discussion will highlight how key strategies are translating into tangible improvements across Asian supply chains.
